The pregnant man number 2 is a work including two parts, one photographic and one in the form of a short film. Both re-enact myself as a pregnant man; criticizing the current ideals of a western community deciding what is normal and what’s not. The works also discuss Sweden’s law about involuntary sterilization when changing sex; it was however abrogated in 2013 but is still obtruded around the world. When staging these scenes I was well aware that humour had to be included in the work – this as a contra measure to the heavy subject deliberated above leading to another layer within the seriousness of the situation.
The movie is to be found here. It is unfortunately only available in Swedish.
